When were you born? I would have hated to be in a building like this one in an emergency situation. This picture was taken in a 6 level building in 2007 all exit and emergency lights had failed outright on closer investigation we found the evacuation lighting was installed in 1986. The owner apparently pays someone to check these every 6 months. So much for changing batteries every 4 years. Pretty scary.

This photo was taken in the same building in 2007 you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out why this emergency light was not working. Have a guess? Manufactures clearly state that life expectancies of batteries (especially lead acid) is 4 years after that they will fail. Owner tells us that they were changed not long ago by a company they have looking after the evacuation lighting. Who do you believe?
